Use-of-sold-products: model it, reduce it, prove it.
For OEMs and manufacturers whose largest carbon footprint sits downstream in customer use, CAS delivers a quantification engine and a strategy programme aligned to the GHG Protocol Scope 3 Standard and SBTi Net-Zero criteria.

Practice positioning.
Category 11 — Use of Sold Products — is the dominant footprint for vehicles, appliances, electronics, fuels, heating equipment, and industrial machinery. CAS implements both the quantification and the abatement programme: lifetime energy and fuel consumption modelling per product variant, regional grid factor projections, sold-units integration from sales/ERP, and scenario engines that translate product roadmap decisions into SBTi-validated emission trajectories. We distinguish direct use-phase emissions (fuels, refrigerants combusted/released by the product) from indirect (electricity consumed) and intermediate products, in line with GHG Protocol Scope 3 §5.4. Reduction strategies cover product efficiency, electrification, fuel switching, circular business models, and behavioural levers — each priced per tCO2e abated.
How CAS delivers.
Inventory & boundary
Define sold-product taxonomy, lifetime assumptions, geographic mix, and direct vs indirect use-phase split per GHG Protocol Scope 3 Standard §5.4.
Quantification engine
Compute C-11 = Σ (units sold × lifetime use × intensity × EF). Integrate with sales, ERP, and product specs. Apply regional grid trajectories and forward-looking AR6 GWP100 factors.
Strategy & abatement
Build a marginal abatement cost curve (MACC) across efficiency, electrification, fuel switching, circular models (PaaS, refurb, leasing), and customer behaviour programmes.
Target & disclosure
Set SBTi-validated absolute or intensity targets (incl. FLAG where relevant). Publish CDP, CSRD ESRS E1, ISSB IFRS S2, and TCFD-aligned scenario disclosures with annual progress tracking.
